My New Adventure

What's my new adventure? I'm starting my own business (while still keeping my current one) selling jewelry with Premier Designs High Fashion Jewelry! I am so excited! My first show/training show was last night and got me even more excited!!! The jewelry is beautiful, affordable, and has a great guarantee! The company is wonderful. It's a Christian company and part of their profits goes to missions. The company was founded 22 years ago as a ministry to help stay-at-home moms earn some money and to support missions. The founders, Andy and Joan Horner, were in their 60s when it was started and, funny story, their daughter works for Livingstone! It's a small world. Anyway, I would love to tell you more about it. Plus, there are awesome hostess benefits...Or, if any of you even have some interest in selling it, just let me know. So, pray for me and wish me luck on this new adventure. I'm pumped! *BTW, Amanda, I'm not watching "Dancing with the Stars" this

Walter is in Canada

Walter headed to Vancouver, Canada for work this past Sunday and returns on Friday. This is the longest he's been away since we got married and I miss him so much. He was supposed to go to Finland for eight days, but that got moved to November. I've been finding ways to keep myself busy so I don't get too lonely or sad. I seem to be doing well. Of course, I miss him most when I go to sleep and he's not with me. It's okay, though. I'm so thankful that I have a husband who loves his job and is good at what he does. This travel is for work, so even though I miss him a lot, I know that ultimately he is doing it to provide for me and I'm cool with it. I can't wait until he gets home!! :) I need to do something special for him... A good friend of mine from high school was in town for her sister's wedding, so we hung out Monday night. Last night, I had some ladies over to do some scrapbooking and hang out. We had a really fun time. Not sure what I'm goi

Labor Day weekend

I'm finally finished with the flower beds! I spent five hours Saturday mulching the sides and back of our house. Whew! It was a big job but feels great to have it done -- and it looks fantastic. I got a massage from my friend Jen on Monday. :) We definitely kept busy this weekend. Sunday, we ran from activity to activity. Even though it was busy, we were glad to have gotten to see people and hang out. It was also our sixth month anniversary!! Time goes by so fast and things just get better and better in our relationship. I feel so blessed and am constantly thanking God for such a wonderful husband. On Monday, Walter's parents came over and his dad helped to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom. There were a lot of snags and it went WAY longer than expected. Oh well! The fan, however, looks fabulous...and works great. :) Walter got hit hard with a cold yesterday and hopefully, he'll get over it soon -- not fun. We're heading to another Cubs game tomorrow with our friends

Hard at work

In order to save money, I've decided to cut/dig and mulch all our new flower beds--both sides of the house and the back yard. Wow. It's a lot of hard work (especially in this hot weather), but I enjoy the hard work. I usually head out in the evenings when it's cooler and get some work done. I just have one side of the house to cut and then I'll be ready to mulch. Yea!!! Like I said, I'm really enjoying myself and I love the feeling of accomplishment when I look at the yard. Just wait till I'm finished. ;) We won't be adding any plants until next year. We are still trying to grow grass in our backyard, so we decided to go ahead and create the beds so that there are less places we need to seed. The grass in our backyard is pathetic. Oh, how I wish I could get that looking good. It's so depressing! Any ideas?

Catch-Up

Well, my brother-in-law, Nate, had the whole Veerman family sign up for Facebook, so I've been even worse about blogging. I don't really check my Facebook account that much, but it let's me know what other people do and so I go to the site and play from there. I have heard from people, however, that they still check my blog. Sorry! So, this Thursday, Walter and I will be married for five months. Awesome! I love being married and we are having a wonderful time. It seems like we've been married longer, because we are so close and I can barely remember when we just engaged! :) Walter has such a good heart and I am so blessed to have him as my husband. I love him so much! He is the love of my life and I'm constantly thanking God that I get to spend a lifetime with him. Earlier in July, we had the Veerman family reunion in Lancaster, PA. It was a great time and I love getting together with everyone. It is awesome to have such a close and caring family. I am truly blessed

I'm Married!!!

Can you believe that the last time I posted was about three weeks before my wedding? I'm really pathetic. :) Actually, it got so busy with wedding details that I just didn't feel like blogging. Oops! Friday, March 2, 2007, Walter and I were married at Naperville Presbyterian Church in Naperville, IL. It was an amazing ceremony -- absolutely perfect! Better than I imagined! We had a worship band play some songs and they were fantastic! I can't wait to get the wedding ceremony DVD so I can watch it all over again. All of my vendors were fantastic and everything went without a hitch. We went to Kauai for our honeymoon and returned this past Monday. We had so much fun and it was gorgeous!! We took almost 1000 pictures! It is nice to be home and be married in our normal lives. I love going to bed next to him and waking up next to him in the morning. I love that I don't have to say goodbye at night. I love that I can easily share my heart with my best friend at different tim

Time flies!

Only 22 days until my wedding!! Actually, the wedding will be fun, but what's even better and more important is that it is only 22 days until I am married to the love of my life, till death do we part. That's what I am really looking forward to. It still seems to far away...maybe we should have eloped. :) Things are going well. I have a lot of people helping me out. My mom is taking care of the reception and has been incredible -- even while suffering from a huge amount of pain in her shoulder. My friend, Brooke S., is helping me with the programs and favors. I am so thankful for all of her help. It is really keeping me from stressing out. My townhouse is on the market right now. There has been interest, but no offers. Please pray that it will sell soon. I just don't want to have to think about it anymore. I'm actually trying not to think about it, because I feel that if I do, I will start to stress out. My sister Kara, Lauren, and Jess threw me a big bridal shower on S

Oops!

Guess it's been awhile since I've posted anything. I'm discovering that more people read my blog than I thought. Sorry! Well, Happy New Year! Since I last wrote, I turned 28 years old, celebrated Christmas with both families (Christmas Eve with Walter's family, Christmas day with my family), and had an awesome New Year's Eve party at Walter's (soon-to-be "our") house. It was a blast and so fun to celebrate with our Growth Group. We are really blessed to have such a wonderful group of church friends. Things are falling into place with the wedding plans -- less than two months! I'm looking for my Bridal Shower on January 28th. We just sent our invitations and we need to start planning our High School reception (and then mail those invitations). Walter and I both work with the High School Youth Group and want to invite all the students to the wedding, so we are having a separate reception for them. It will probably be Saturday, March 17th. I have to c
